Hand-some Daddy

I know a certain little red-haired girl who used to resist holding my hand in parking lots. And of course, that is a typical adult/child struggle for many. I see it all the time. Adults have the overview of driver doors opening, backup lights flashing, vehicles turning into the lane too fast. Short ones have no vision of the dangers along the way; they just want to prove that they know the way to the store.

Thankfully, my little temporary responsibility has finally submitted gently to my hand and how sweet it is. That small hand in mine, willing to be guided, is such a pleasure. Can I say it again? It warms my heart.

That’s how we are to be with our All-Seeing Abba. He sees the dangers we cannot anticipate. And He sees the right openings along with the right timing. He can tell us where to go and when to wait. If we submit happily to His Guidance, we can be safe in troubled spaces and times.
